…#17 ‘in&OUT’……Final Varnish!

'in&OUT' oil on panel. 31x22.5cm

……Ok- So it’s almost been a full year since I painted ‘in&OUT’ – Which means its ‘dry’ enough to put the final varnish on!….Actually, oil paintings don’t ‘dry’ through evaporation – They go through a slow process called polymerization….Which forms bonds similar to plastics. -That’s why an oil painting that was painted with the correct method and with pigments that are permanent, will be durable enough to last for many hundreds of years. And when you put the final varnish on – It protects the paint layer from damage and it also gives back the depth in the colors- kinda like when you wet a dull pebble, to reveal it’s beautiful colors……I’ve been waiting for so long to see how this painting will look once it’s been varnished! – I’ve already updated the pages and gallery.. I hope you like it!.
